Pennsylvania lawmakers return to session today after a nearly three-month-long summer break from the Capitol.
And they won’t be alone.
Up to 1,000 people, including victims of child sex abuse, are expected to descend on the Capitol, too, for rallies, speeches and lobbying in support of legislation that would give them and future victims greater legal protections in civil and criminal courts.
The event is planned to keep pressure on the Legislature to pass a bill that gives adults more time to sue their childhood abusers and enablers, and to allow prosecutors to charge future abusers at any time.
