The catholic church nuns and priest... made blood money on their hands... by the sweet of children... and now their are making money from the old age Pensioners... Ann
================================
Pensions have been on their way out for a long time. They're expensive for employers, and they require lots of rule-following and reporting.
But the sponsors of pension funds run by Catholic hospitals have taken advantage of an IRS rule, which, in effect, gives zero protection to retirees if the pension goes bust.

Archdiocese officials knew priest was 'milking' people for money, clergyman says

The Archdiocese of Newark knew three years ago that one of its priests was "milking" an elderly parishioner for tens of thousands of dollars but took no action, allowing him to collect even more money from others for his personal use, a whistleblower clergyman contends.
The Rev. Alex Orozco, 37, allegedly accepted more than $250,000 in cash and goods from parishioners of St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills between the fall of 2012 and October 2014, when he transferred to a new post in Bergen County.

Our dirty little secret - abuse of elderly

Elder abuse is gathering attention as the country's quiet crime, and one aged care specialist says not enough is happening to prevent it.
Meg McHugh, a registered nurse with 12 years' experience in aged care, including auditing roles, says New Zealand lags behind in its laws - something she was surprised about in a country that prides itself on its welfare systems. In Taranaki, 61 cases were reported in the past 10 months and it's believed this doesn't reflect the true size of the issue because, nationally, only about 18 per cent of cases are reported.

New Zealand's hidden shame

Befriended by a tradesman, an elderly woman drew around $70,000 in cash over a period of weeks from her bank to give to the man who called her "Nana".
He'd been doing some painting work for her, but nobody realised what was going on in a case of what has come to be known as financial "elder abuse", the exploitation of older, vulnerable people, often by those they have come to trust.

Power costs risk elderly health - Age Concern

The organisation's Canterbury branch said it was increasingly encountering older people who could not afford to heat their homes, with some opting to stay in bed all day.
Chief executive of Age Concern Auckland, Kevin Lamb, said problems were also being seen in Auckland. Mr Lamb said the cost of living in Auckland is rapidly increasing, and many older people are having to decide between paying the rent or mortgage, or heating their homes.
