Nearly a year ago Bishop Lawrence Persico broke new ground when he endorsed a concept often championed as a cornerstone of American democracy, but not necessarily recognized as a hallmark of the Roman Catholic Church hierarchy.
The faithful, Persico said, “have a right to know.”
