Child sex abusers won't be able to claim good character to get shorter sentences in Victoria.

Teachers and other community leaders convicted of child sex offences will no longer be able to claim they are of "good character" when seeking more lenient sentences in Victorian courts. New laws to be introduced into parliament on Tuesday, follow a recommendation from the child abuse royal commission, Attorney-General Martin Pakula said.
