It has been two months since the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse held its case study hearings in Newcastle,
New South Wales. Here survivors reflect on sharing their stories with
the Commission, and the support they give each other through the Clergy
Abuse Network (CAN) group.
Peter Russ was abused as a child in the 1970s. He said he originally intended to speak to the Royal Commission under a pseudonym, but later changed his mind. "Usually I'm the sort of person that just sits in the corner and doesn't say anything," he said.
