Pope Romanus Ongombe of the Legion Maria sect has denied allegations
from one of the sect’s cardinals that he eloped with a married woman.
Cardinal Samson Arogo, the Head of Administration of the church headquartered at Got Kwer, Migori County, claimed that his pope eloped with three women. Pope Ongombe denied the allegations, explaining that, “I have moved up the ranks from a padre, to bishop then cardinal, and now I am the pope. Everyone knows that I never engaged in such conducts. I am a pope installed by God.”
