Mrs Z was created by the Otago Abuse Committee in New Zealand.
Rather than record the names of abusive priests or those who dare to
make a complaint about clergy in the Catholic Church, the Abuse
Committees use creative coded pseudonyms in their reports. Additionally
the committee members, who are chosen by the Bishops, use the reports
to twist, distort and deny the claims of those who make a complaint.
Fr McG specialises in covert, sometimes called conversational, hypnosis. He has abused numerous women in the church in New Zealand by the use of these known techniques. One of the effects of hypnosis is to produce a relaxed, peaceful but alert state of mind. Fr McG can then pass off the effect of hypnosis upon his victims as a spiritual experience. He has been promoted as a ‘charismatic’ priest in the Otago diocese.
