Monsignor William Lynn walks from
the courthouse after the jury finished deliberating for the day in his
sexual abuse trial in Philadelphia on June 20, 2012. Lynn, aged 61 in
2012, the highest-ranking U.S. church official to stand trial in the
church's pedophilia scandal, was accused of conspiracy and child
endangerment.
His conviction has since been overturned after the Superior Court took issue with evidence prosecutors introduced attempting to prove that the Archdiocese of Philadelphia had historically mishandled child abuse complaints involving priests.
