It is so good to see that the lawyers... are not afraid of the catholic church any more... it was like us survivors... had to prove what was done to us... by the nuns and priest... we were not believed even by the lawyers... I went to five different lawyers... before I found one who would take my case... the sixth lawyer believed me... and I have not looked back since... it was as if I was the criminal... I was the rapist... and abuser of innocent children... they just started at me... maybe they could not believe their eyes... that some one had come into their office... and asked them if they would take their case on... it was worst than being raped and abused... I would go outside... cry and sit down a while... then went in to see the next lawyer... all five lawyers... talked down to me... and my lawyer at that time... told me that she went to a convent school... and was taught so well... I told her that there was a very big difference... between being in a convent school... and bought up in a orphanage as a baby... she just about told me to stop telling her lies... she was the hardest of all other lawyers... I never went to see her again... a lawyer you have to TRUST 100present... as he does to you... it has to be 100present each way... or you may as well not be there... Ann
For decades, the Catholic Church has shielded predatory priests, said Rep. Mark Rozzi, D-Berks, a victim of clergy abuse. The most recent evidence of those "systematic cover-ups," Rozzi said, is outlined in last week's state grand jury report that accuses two bishops overseeing the Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown of allowing at least 50 priests and other religious leaders to sexually abuse hundreds of children for decades.
