Former residents of a Gravesend children’s home
are pursuing legal action against the Church of England for allegedly
covering up years of drug abuse. A claim is
being prepared by lawyers for Teresa Cooper, 48, a campaigner who says
she was forcibly tranquilised at Kendall House between 1981 and 1984.
The
mother-of-three hopes the claim can help give a voice to those who are
said to have fallen ill as a result of their treatment at the home, as
well as their children and grandchildren, many of whom suffered birth
defects.
