A Franciscan religious order in Pennsylvania says it is “deeply
saddened” to learn of criminal charges against three leaders who are
accused of allowing a friar who was a known sexual predator to have
access to children.
Kane’s office seized documents from the order last summer and Brother Stephen Baker stabbed himself in the heart at the monastery in January 2013. In that job, the grand jury found, he sexually offended three more children, Kane said.
