CHILD abuse survivors were "insulted" by a proposal to set up an
alpaca farm in the Highlands to help them cope with their traumatic
past.
The bizarre suggestion was put forward at a Scottish Government meeting earlier this year, when officials and campaigners were discussing how to spend a £14.5million support fund. It is understood that an external consultant said petting alpacas could be "therapeutic" for the survivors, many of whom have been left with lifelong mental health issues.
