Jared Fogel, thirty-seven, former Subway pitchman, video-game star, will plead guilty
to possessing and transmitting child pornography (some of which
depicted children as young as six), to traveling in order to pay for sex
with minors ("the younger the better," he told one of the
seventeen-year-old girls he patronized, asking her to find more girls
for him).
In exchange, the government has agreed not to seek a sentence of longer than twelve and a half years (and Fogel won't seek one shorter than five). A judge may decide to impose a stricter sentence.
