Australia's major Catholic
archbishops have accepted a "catastrophic failure" of leadership left
children unprotected from sexual abuse.
The
Archbishops of Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide all
agreed with counsel assisting Gail Furness SC's proposition that
leadership's response to allegations was inadequate.
