Child abuse survivor sues East Lothian Council over Tranent school ordeal

A CHILD abuse survivor is suing East Lothian Council and a Catholic Church sect after he was assaulted by a monk at a residential school in the county. Michael Murphy, known as Brother Benedict or Brother Ben, was jailed for seven years for abusing children in the 1970s and 1980s when he worked at St Joseph's School, by Meadowmill, near Tranent.
