Few people have followed the Catholic Church’s response to the sex
abuse scandals as closely as Dennis Coday. He is the editor of National Catholic Reporter, an independent news outlet that first uncovered stories of abuse in the church in 1985.
Coday began working for the publication in 2003 during an era when a landslide of new stories across the country exposed abusive priests and cover-ups. Coday said the church “has been doing things right, especially over the last 10 years.”
