Disparities between the evidence of a complainant and allegations put
to a 66-year-old Marlborough man accused of rape have been called into
question at his trial.
Officer in charge of the case Detective Constable Paul Soper was called to give evidence at the High Court in Nelson this morning. The accused faces 48 charges including rape, sexual violation, indecent assault, making objectionable publications and the supply of class A and class C drugs, against 10 complainants.
